About Me

I'm a Christian. I'm a writer. I have type one diabetes. I am many more things and will probably be many more things in the years to come.

I rewrite my "about me" too many times. I don't really know everything your supposed to put on it. I don't really know the outline for an "about me" page. I could google it. I could look at others. I have. But the real problem is my opinions keep changing and an "about me" is just so static. Because it doesn't change unless I rewrite it. Whereas with the blog I can blog out my current feelings and people generally know that it is just one blog post of many. But with an "about me" page it's like it is forever.

Perhaps I should just get rid of it. Or just have a "contact me" page instead. Are any of you even still reading? I'm kind of rambling.

I guess I'll try to give you a sort of overview. I can't promise how long this will be up here though.

First off, I'm Christian. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I'm not going to say much more about that here. If I ever post my story of how I came to faith in Jesus I might put a link here. But the reason I'm not posting more is not because I don't want to share, but because an "about me" is not really the place to do it. Again, "about me's" are kind of static, and faith is a growing thing. I'm still learning, and will probably always be learning. So I don't want to put something here I have to worry about changing my mind on again. This is just to give you some basic about me stuff.

I'm a writer, as you know. I came to writing around age 15 after reading Abarat by Clive Barker. I liked it so much that I wanted to give reading a go, and I did. You can see my books by clicking on the "My Books" tab at the top, or in the menu if you're on some kind of smart device.

The way I generally approach writing is I don't decide I'm going to write a romance, or I'm going to write a fantasy, I just write the story that needs to be written and let it form it's own genre. That doesn't mean a certain style, or a certain type won't form naturally, it just means I'm not going for a specific genre.

As for type 1 diabetes, I don't really blog a whole lot about it. But just so we're clear on the basics: I didn't get it from eating too much sugar as a kid. I can eat sugar. I can eat chocolate. I can eat candy. I can eat bread (you might think that's weird, but I read online one time that some guy took a roll out of someone else's diabetic child. In a restaurant. Yeah.) It's not even the sugar that matters, but the carbohydrates minus the fiber. Sugar free candy is not diabetic friendly just because it has no sugar. Because it can still have carbs. Because they put sugar alcohol in it, instead of sugar. If you really want to know more than this you can ask me, or google it for yourself. But in short, I can eat anything someone without diabetes can eat. I just have to take insulin for it. And yes, there is a difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. And yes, type 1 is what people sometimes think of as the "bad diabetes" *cue ominous music* Although there is no good kind.

So that's a little about me.
